Experiencing Resurrection Life

That I may know him, and the power
Of his resurrection, and the fellowship
Of his sufferings, being made conformable
Unto his death; if by any means I might
Attain unto the resurrection of the dead.
Phil: 3:10-11

In order to experience resurrection power in this life one has got to go through the experience of death but also one has got to be free from sin and the plague of unclean spirits.  If one has not had the experience of being born again, set free from sin through sanctification, baptized in the spirit, and experienced sanctification of the spirit, experiencing the resurrection power Paul is speaking about will not come.  St. Paul said he died daily… and in dying daily experienced resurrection power daily.  Our trials and tribulations, our sufferings are the means by which resurrection power is attained. Without trials, without persecution, without being misjudged resurrection power will not be an ongoing experience.

We may experience resurrection power in healing.  Yet so many healings do not occur because the person has not dealt with sin, unclean spirits, and generational curses that hinder the operation of the spirit in their lives.  To be in a place where resurrection power is manifested requires a complete commitment to God.  It requires dealing with the sin issue, dealing with the flesh, dealing with the world and being baptized in the spirit.  If we experience the fullness of God then we will experience resurrection power in every trial and circumstance that would bring us to death and thereby bring us to resurrection life.
St. Paul went through many hardships in his life.  These hardships brought about an understanding of Christ and of the spiritual life.  Without these experiences his life would have been shallow and his teaching mild.  But St. Paul suffered greatly and wrote with great power and authority because of his trials not in spite of them.  We too are asked to suffer with Christ in order to share in his resurrection.  By stepping out in faith one disposes oneself to the blessings of God.  If one stays only in the harbor and never ventures out into the deep one will stay only in shallow waters and have only a shallow experience of God.

In short, do not despise the trials you face.  Confess your sin.  Cleanse yourself from unclean spirits.  Seek the baptism of the Holy Spirit and seek being filled with all the fullness of God which is the sanctification of the spirit that St. Paul and St. Peter talk about.  If you do, then death will be the doorway to life at each and every turn.

Amen
