That
Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith
Eph3:17 A new heart
also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put
within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh and I will give you a heart of flesh. There is hope for the vilest offender if having seen Christ, and chooses to repent, will become a new creature, old things have passed away, behold all things are made new (2Cor5:17 paraphrased) Our stony heart can be transformed to a heart of flesh. We can receive the heart of Christ because if we invite him in, Christ will dwell there through faith. Now to choose to invite Christ in means that you forsake the world, deny yourself, and take up your cross. It means suffering with Christ to share in the resurrection. It means not grieving the Spirit of God who will lead us down the path of righteousness for his name's sake and though we walk through the valley of death, we will fear no evil. (Psalm23) Thus we are buried with him through baptism that we may rise to new life. Two hearts becoming one. Two hearts knit together in love. Two hearts but only one holy: the heart of Christ. Why do we ask Jesus into our heart? Because his heart is the only heart that is pure, meek, and lowly. He is the all together special one and to be like him is the only life worth living. Invite him in your heart today! Amen |
